Myrtle Beach’s longest-running event returns May 1–3, 2026, as the 71st Annual Sun Fun Festival brings three days of free, family-friendly entertainment to downtown Myrtle Beach. The beloved tradition features live music, interactive family activities, colorful specialty performers and the World’s Largest Rubber Duck, welcoming locals and visitors alike to kick off the summer season.
The weekend kicks off with the return of the six‑story‑tall World’s Largest Rubber Duck, affectionately known as Mama Duck, in recognition of National Water Safety Month, offering families a fun and memorable way to learn about staying safe in and around the water. Presented by the YMCA of Coastal Carolina, the popular attraction is available for viewing Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On Friday evening, explore local galleries, shops and restaurants from 5 to 8 p.m. throughout Myrtle Beach’s Arts & Innovation District during the First Friday Art Walk. The free, self‑guided monthly art walk features local artists, live music and pop‑up exhibits, with many restaurants offering specials for the evening. From 6-8 p.m., enjoy the upbeat sounds of Chocolate Chip & Co., as one of four free concerts in Plyler Park.
Additional concerts include Devin Dove Band, 1-4 p.m. and Gary Lowder & Smokin’ Hot Band, 6-9 p.m., on Saturday and Too MUCH SyLviA, 3-6 p.m. on Sunday.
In addition to live concerts, families can enjoy a variety of interactive entertainment provided by Over the Moon Productions, including stilt walkers, balloon twisters, flow artists and other engaging performances throughout the weekend.
