We love fall here at The Beach and throughout October, we're increasingly becoming a Halloween haven where frightful fun celebrations abound. From family-friendly trick-or-treating to spine-chilling haunted adventures, the Myrtle Beach area offers a cauldron of festive activities and events throughout the month, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Best yet, many events are FREE!

Get ready for a spine-tingling October as Fright Nights returns to Myrtle Beach’s Ocean Boulevard with a thrilling array of events for all ages every weekend from Oct. 3 – Nov. 2. The festivities take place on Friday and Saturday night from 5 – 8 p.m. and Sunday from 1 – 4 p.m. at Plyler Park adjacent to the SkyWheel. Enjoy live music, themed shows and entertainers, including zombies. For those seeking haunted adventures, visit Ripley's Haunted Adventure and Nightmare Haunted House, among other amusements.
New this year, the Myrtle Beach Zombie Walk is lurching its way back to downtown Myrtle Beach on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025. This family-friendly event is a fundraiser benefiting the Grand Strand Down Syndrome Society, and all ages are encouraged to participate in the spooky, messy and memorable fun. From 1-4 p.m., take part in the Pre-Walk Prep in Nance Plaza, 825 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, with live entertainment and professional make-up artists on site who will be turning participants into frightfully realistic zombies. Then, the Myrtle Beach Zombie Walk will begin at 4 p.m. from Nance Plaza to Plyler Park at the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk.
Attractions throughout the region are showcasing Halloween themes like Broadway at the Beach, which offers The Patch at Broadway with a pumpkin patch, hay maze and seasonal photo ops. The Charles Bach Wonders Theatre is hosting Wicked Wonders, a spellbinding Halloween-themed magic show. And the annual Halloween Bash on The Avenue takes place on Saturday, Oct. 25 starting at 8 p.m. with a DJ and elaborate costume party.
Each October, the historic city of Conway transforms into the City of Halloween, S.C. where nearly every inch of the charming riverfront district overflows with creativity, spooky fun and surprises. Nationally recognized for unmatched attention to detail, Conway’s Halloween displays have become a point of pride for the community, with each year outshining the last. Visitors can stroll beneath nearly 3,000 glowing pumpkins, browse seasonal crafts and treats, and explore immersive experiences like Skeleton Alley, the Tunnel of Bones and a haunted pirate ship. This year brings fresh thrills with the inaugural Graveyard Grand Prix Coffin Races on Oct. 25 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. where costumed teams race handcrafted coffins in a high-energy display of imagination and small-town charm.
Plus, mark your calendar for these frightfully fun events:
· Oct. 25, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.: Children’s Imagination Walk at Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet providing a scavenger hunt, craft stations and a costume parade.
· Oct. 25, Noon-4 p.m.: BooFest! At Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach, featuring lively kids and pets costume contests, prizes, stilt walkers and music for the whole family.
· Oct. 25, 9a.m.-4 p.m.: Surfside Beach’s full day of Halloween fun kicks off with the Rod Run Car Show, followed by Best of the Beach Balls Meatball challenge raising funds and awareness for Champion Autism Network. The celebration wraps up with a Halloween Golf Cart Parade from 3 to 4 p.m.
· Oct. 25 & 26, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.: Spooktacular Fall Fun at Southern Palmetto Farms in Aynor includes costume contests, trick-or-treating and fun, fall activities.
· Oct. 25 & 26, 4 p.m.: Halloween Helicopter Candy Drop at Thompson Farm in Conway, where dreams come true as candy rains from the sky. Plus, spend the day at the farm enjoying fall activities like the corn maze, petting zoo, hay wagon rides and more.
· Oct. 25, 5-8 p.m.: Halloween BOOnanza at the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex, offering an evening of fun with trick-or-treating, magic shows, games and inflatables.
· Oct. 30, 5:30-8:30 p.m.: Nights at Nance Halloween Boo Bash at Myrtle Beach’s Nance Plaza featuring live music from crowd favorite Tru Sol and a festive costume contest with exciting prizes.
· Oct. 31, 5-7 p.m.: Hometown Halloween at The Market Common, with trick-or-treating at participating businesses and a groovy dance party in front of the Grand 14 Movie Theater with the Monster Mash and more.
· Oct. 31, 5-8 p.m.: Halloween on the MarshWalk in Murrells Inlet featuring trick-or-treating, costume contests with prizes for kids and adults as well as fun throughout the participating eight restaurants along the waterfront walkway.
