Exciting air service announcements are taking off at Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR), and while new flights are great news for visitors, they also matter in a big way for Grand Strand residents.
Contour Airlines Joins the MYR Family With 3 New Flights
MYR recently welcomed Contour Airlines as its newest airline partner, adding nonstop service to Beckley and Parkersburg, W. Va., and Altoona, Penn. The airline is known for low fares and no change fees, giving travelers more flexibility and affordability when flying in and out of Myrtle Beach.
For residents, expanded air service means more options when visiting family, traveling for work, planning a getaway or welcoming loved ones to the beach. Each new route also strengthens the Grand Strand’s tourism economy, which supports local jobs, small businesses, restaurants, attractions and public services across the region.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Contour Airlines to MYR,” said Judi Olmstead, Director of Airports. “Our team continuously works to expand air service opportunities based on traveler demand, and this new route provides a convenient and affordable option for our passengers. We appreciate Contour’s investment in our community and look forward to a successful partnership.”
Houston & Atlantic City Now Serviced By Current Carriers
MYR is also served by Allegiant, American, Avelo, Breeze, Delta, Frontier, Southwest, Sun Country and United, and current carriers continue to expand service.
Southwest Airlines recently announced new nonstop service between MYR and William P. Hobby Airport in Houston, creating another direct connection between Myrtle Beach and one of the nation’s largest metro areas.
Breeze Airways also announced nonstop flights to Atlantic City International Airport beginning Oct. 22, adding another convenient travel option for both residents and visitors.
These additions are another reminder that tourism works for the Grand Strand. Strong airport service helps bring visitors here, supports local businesses and gives residents better access to the places and people that matter most.
More flights mean more opportunity for our economy, our workforce and our community.
