The major motion picture filmed along the Grand Strand premieres Friday, Jan. 16 at Market Common with showings for a week.
“Learning You” tells the story of a father taking his autistic son on a road trip.
The movie tells the story of an architect and his autistic son on a Christmas road trip, a journey that resonates with a billionaire developer facing similar challenges with his own son. The film was created to honor and celebrate the dedication of parents and caregivers of children with special needs, acknowledging their unwavering love and strength. Featuring a cast including Caleb Milby, Stacy Haiduk, and John Wells, the movie aims to remind families they are not alone and that their stories matter. “It's always exciting to see our hometown on the big screen. The ‘Learning You’ movie is one of those meaningful projects that showcases our region’s growing reputation as a welcoming destination. This year, Surfside Beach celebrates 10 years as a certified autism-friendly destination, and similar efforts continue to expand across the Grand Strand. Film productions like this one shine a positive light on our area, reinforcing our standing as a family-focused community, supporting local businesses and jobs, building tourism and amplifying local pride,” said Stuart Butler, president of Visit Myrtle Beach.
